Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says Michail Mudrik needs to learn to understand the game better. The teenage Ukrainian winger is yet to score his first goal for the club after making 21 appearances for the club since joining from Shakhtar Donetsk in January. Ma Mudrik played 63 minutes on the pitch at the Vitality Stadium but was unable to impress once again.
The Blues invested £89 million ($110m) worth of faith in the jet-heeled winger back in the January transfer window when beating London rivals Arsenal to his signature and putting a big-money deal in place with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Mudryk has struggled to get to grips with the Premier League, and posted another blank in Chelsea’s goalless draw with Bournemouth, and Pochettino has told Sky Sports of the learning process that the 22-year-old is still going through: “He is improving. He still needs to learn in the Premier League, it’s very fast. He needs to understand the game better, try to be more connected sometimes with the team. We need to give the time and tools for him to improve during the season.”
After the game, Poch gave an interview to Mudrik, revealing that Ukrainian teenagers need to learn to understand the game better. “He is improving. He still has to learn. The Premier League is very fast, the speed of the game is very fast,” Poch told ยูฟ่าเบท. “I think it’s more about understanding the game. Try to connect with the team more. “We need to give him the time and tools to develop during the season.”
